Boutique spinning studio CycleBar rolling into Winter Park

Spandex-clad cyclists slogging their way through the summer heat can take refuge soon at Central Florida’s first-ever boutique spinning studio, scheduled to launch in September. CycleBar Winter Park will welcome spinning enthusiasts of all levels looking for a 50-minute, high-energy workout – led by trained CycleStar instructors in a high-tech, air-conditioned environment.

"We think the September opening is an ideal time for our guests to get into a great indoor cycling routine before the fall and winter holidays," said Annie Bernstein, VP of operations for Ciclo Management, CycleBar’s Central Florida franchisee, which also holds the rights for Tampa and Sarasota CycleBars. The studio location is strategic, as well.

“We look for active, vibrant areas like Winter Park that will support our customer base of new and experienced riders, and health and fitness-oriented consumers seeking a fun workout experience," Bernstein said.

During classes, the studio’s tiered CycleTheatre provides a multisensory experience with LED lighting, widescreen graphics and state-of-the-art audio with DJ booth. Participants can track their performance using data monitoring, download class playlists, and then cool down in the aromatherapy-filled lounge with filtered water and fresh fruit. Amenities such as towels, lockers and cycling shoes are free.

CycleBar uses a pay-per-class model, with packaged deals, but there are no memberships. "Our philosophy is that you should pay for what you use and use everything you pay for, so we extend expiration dates and have no extra fees or charges," Bernstein explained.

The custom studio, already under construction at 110 South Orlando Ave. in Winter Park, is one of 100 CycleBars opening this year throughout the U.S., from Denver and Detroit to Houston and Tampa. Sarasota-based Ciclo Management plans to launch eight additional Central Florida locations over the next 18 months, with likely studios in Windermere, Celebration, Dr. Phillips, Winter Garden and Lake Nona.

Prior to the grand opening, CycleBar Winter Park will host CycleBlast, a 10-day period of free classes that will introduce the public to its cycling experience. Registration begins in August and is required at Going forward, regular CycleBar events will support philanthropic organizations such as the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the American Heart Association, and the Movember Foundation for men’s health awareness.
